Miss Korea is now an ambassador for Jeju

Seoul: Today, the Jeju Island New7Wonders of Nature national committee appointed Miss Korea 2010, Jung So-ra, and six runners up from last year’s beauty contest, as official ambassadors for the Jeju campaign. The seven reflect the native, natural beauty that hallmark the island’s beaches, waterfalls, flora and fauna.

The new ambassadors were welcomed to their new roles by the Chairman of the Jeju national committee, former Prime Minister Professor Chung Un Chan, the Secretary General Dr. Yang Won Chan, and the Governor of Jeju, Mr. Woo Keun-min.

After attending the Shanghai American School, Jung So-ra moved to the United States and she is now a student at the University of California, Riverside. She speaks Japanese, Chinese and Spanish in addition to her native Korean and has ambitions to be a diplomat. As an ambassador for Jeju, she is now ideally positioned to get hands-on experience in the theory and practice of international relations.
