Discussions took place with the management of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro. This is the team that is ultimately responsible for the image and upkeep of the statue. Meetings were also held with the leadership of Rio State Tourism and Rio Visitors and Convention Bureau. De la Fuente also met with the teams behind the Trem do Corcovado (the official train to the Cristo Redentor) and Paneiras Corcovado (the official vehicle tour to the Cristo Redentor, as well as the main hospitality and retail merchandising operator).

The Director of New7Wonders summarised the meetings as “A unique chance to reconnect with Cristo Redentor, which is not only one of the Official New 7 Wonders of the World but is also an icon for the whole of Brazil. Rio de Janeiro remains a uniquely vibrant city, and there are many opportunities for Cristo and Rio to benefit from the ‘wonder effect’ in the future.”
