Diplomats unite for the New7Wonders of Nature

Goodwill and friendship between the 28 Finalists in the New7Wonders of Nature was the theme of an event hosted on Jeju Island at the weekend by the Jeju National Committee Chairman Professor Chung Un Chan and Jeju Governor Woo Keun Min.

Representatives from a number of countries at Ambassador, Consul General and Counsellor level in South Korea were present at the event. Among those in attendance were their Excellencies Carlos Alberto Arganaraz, the Ambassador of Argentina; Edmundo Fujita, the Ambassador of Brazil; Nick Dammen, the Ambassador of Indonesia; Sergio Mercuri, the Ambassador of Italy; Omar Nahar, the Ambassador of Jordan; Issam Mostapha, the Ambassador of Lebanon; Krzysztof Majka, the Ambassador of Poland; Hilton Dennis, the Ambassador of South Africa; Tran Trong Toan, the Ambassador of Vietnam, and Paul Boyd, the Consul General of the USA.

New7Wonders Director Jean-Paul de la Fuente was among the dignitaries at the events, which ranged from the ceremonial signing by the diplomats of a card with the name of each Finalist to a special tour of Jeju Island.
