Two Korean students in the United States have composed a song to promote Jeju Island as one of the New7Wonders of Nature.
“Our Precious Gem, Jeju” describes the natural beauty of the island.
Kwon Jung-eun and Kim Cheong, who are attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, composed the lyrics and music, and nine fellow-students, three Korean, two Korean-American, two Japanese, one Chinese and one American sang the song in the recording studio.
MiYooMo (the Korean Student Ambassadors for Innovative Volunteer Outreach) has made the song available as a free mp3 file on its homepage. The students are working on a music video for the song and plan to release later this month. The target audience for “Our Precious Gem, Jeju” is Korean international students across the US.
“Students are the best publicity envoys as they are scattered throughout the world and communicate directly with local students,” MiYooMo leader Kim Seung-hwan told The Korea Herald.
