Zurich/Switzerland, — After some four months of restoration work, Brazil’s celebrated Christ Redeemer is now resplendently back in the public eye.
The soapstone monument, 38 meters or 125 feet high, is a symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro and symbolizes for many the warmth and hospitality of the Cariocas and all Brazilians. Christ Redeemer is one of the Official New 7 Wonders of the World, chosen by more than 100 million votes from around the world and announced in Lisbon on 07.07.07 in a live televised gala.
