New7Wonders continues engagement with Petra and Jordan following the World Expo

Following the successful series of events at Dubai Expo 2020, where the official Wonder Marker for Petra was hosted at the Jordan national pavilion, as well as the participation of New7Wonders in the International Women’s Day initiatives at the Jordan pavilion, New7Wonders has continued its positive engagement with a series of official visit and meetings in Jordan itself.

N7W Director Jean-Paul de la Fuente visiting Petra

The Director of New7Wonders, Jean-Paul de la Fuente, met in Jordan’s capital Amman with The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), a position that has Minister ranking in Jordan, Dr. Suleiman Farajat, as well as with the Directorate of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB). The JTB and PDTRA also coordinated and hosted an official New7Wonders review visit to Petra itself, one of the Official New 7 Wonders of the World. Commenting on the meetings and visit, the Director of New7Wonders Jean-Paul de la Fuente said “Petra was one of the strongest participants in the global campaign to elect the official New 7 Wonders of the World, and it is therefore a perfectly timed opportunity for Petra to work with New7Wonders to explore positive economic and development opportunities going forwards.”
