CHICHÉN ITZÁ, MEXICO: Just 14 days now until the Official Inauguration of La Habana, Cuba, as one of the New7Wonders Cities. The inauguration begins on Tuesday, 7 June, with the unveiling of the New7Wonders CityMark icon monument at the Esplanada de la Punta, and this will be followed by a celebration at the Plaza de la Catedral with the Buena Vista Social Club, the Ballet Lizt Alfonso and the Cuban National Choir.
On Thursday, 9 June, there will be a carnival parade through the Paseo del Prado, with giant floats and public participation across the city, and on the following day a seminar and dialogue featuring a keynote speech by Bernard Weber, Founder-President of New7Wonders will take place. The Official Inauguration ceremonies will conclude on Saturday, 11 June with a concert of popular Cuban music in La Aragon at Prado and Neptuno.
