Schedule for completion of New7Wonders of Nature

New7Wonders of Nature

Zurich/Switzerland: Voting for the New7Wonders of Nature will end on 11 November 2011 (11/11/11) at 11:11 am GMT and the preliminary results will be announced later that day. Once the results have been verified, each of the seven winners will be confirmed at an Official Inauguration event. Here is the full schedule:

11/11/11 end of voting: 11:11 am GMT

All voting platforms will cease to accept votes at 11:11 am GMT. The www.new7wonders.com website will display a message confirming this, and all phone lines will stop accepting votes. However, for technical reasons (worldwide server update times and telephone implementation schedules), both the website and some phone lines may still appear to be active while the shut down occurs. Again: any votes submitted after 11:11 am GMT will not be counted.

11/11/11 announcement of preliminary, provisional result: 7:07 pm GMT

The announcement will be made on www.new7wonders.com from the New7Wonders headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. As this is the first preliminary and not fully confirmed result, it will be a closed, non-press announcement and the media will be informed via the New7Wonders News Room. Official Supporting Committees will receive an e-mail notification a few minutes prior to 7:00 pm GMT.

Post 11/11/11: the Official Inaugurations of the New7Wonders of Nature

As the results are being verified and the calculation is being audited, each of the provisionally announced New7Wonders of Nature will have the opportunity to plan for the hosting of the Official Inauguration event. The Official Inauguration is the moment when the location becomes fully recognised as a winner, and will be a major event including the ceremonial presentation of the Official N7WN Plaque by N7W Founder and President Bernard Weber. Once the voting verification is complete and the Official Inauguration is implemented in line with the planning conditions, the winner’s official status is fully confirmed, and the location then becomes one of the New7Wonders of Nature and part of New7Wonders Global Memory©.
