Zurich/Switzerland, 15 June 2011: Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 (AA2000), one of the world’s leading airport operator companies, is now an Official Finalist Supporter platinum sponsor of Iguazu Falls, Argentina, in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign.

Announcing the sponsorship, New7Wonders Director Jean-Paul de la Fuente said: “We welcome AA2000 on board as a sponsor of Iguazu Falls, Argentina. AA2000 is at the heart of the air travelling public in Argentina, and welcomes millions of travellers to the country every year. AA2000 also operates the Iguazu Falls International Airport, and is therefore uniquely positioned to champion this Finalist.”

Mr. Alberto Caballero, Commercial Director of AA2000 said: “AA2000 supports Iguazu Falls because we see this iconic location as a true world wonder, and because we believe this sponsorship is directly aligned with our strategic objectives. We want Iguazu Falls to be successful, and when hopefully it is, we want everyone to know that AA2000 was part of ensuring that success.”

Iguazu Falls, shared by Argentina and Brazil, is one of 28 Finalists in the global 1-billion-votes campaign to choose the Official New7Wonders of Nature. A recent study by Grant Thornton has confirmed that being successful in the campaign does not only generate hundreds of millions of dollars of image, promotional and marketing value, but also specifically over US$ 1 billion in actual economic value in the first five years alone. For this reason leading companies see becoming New7Wonders Official Finalist Supporters as bringing both marketing and economic benefits to their brands and businesses.
