ZURICH: New7Wonders has completed the first part of the Official New7Wonders VII (Verification, Information and Improvement) process for Chichén Itzá, one of the New7Wonders of the World. A preliminary report has been sent to the relevant authorities and civil organisations, for them to consider and respond to.
The New7Wonders VII is the ongoing audit programme conducted by New7Wonders as the world authority for the voted Wonders, to ensure they are able to maintain their status as Wonders, and to advise on changes and improvements to be made to ensure this. The New7Wonders VII has already been completed by the China Great Wall, which has successfully confirmed its official Wonder status. Chichén Itzá, the Mayan pyramid in the State of Yucatán, Mexico, is therefore the second Wonder to be audited.
Further information and updates will be provided in due course.
