Thousands of sports spectators arriving for the official opening ceremonies of the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia, were welcomed by the two premiers of both provinces that surround the Bay. Nova Scotia’s Premier Dexter and New Brunswick’s Premier Alward were on hand to personally promote Canada’s Bay of Fundy in the global New7Wonders of Nature campaign.
They were joined by Terri McCulloch, Executive Director of Bay of Fundy Tourism, Bay of Fundy’s official sponsoring committee. “The Canada Games are about celebrating national pride and achievement,” said Ms. McCulloch, “It is a perfect opportunity to remind Canadians from all across the country about the beautiful Bay of Fundy and to encourage them to vote for our country’s finalist in the prestigious New7Wonders of Nature campaign.”
