Valuable paper to honor the New7Wonders Finalist Candidates

The Official New7Wonders of Nature Finalist Candidate certificates are especially and exclusively hand-made, gold-plated, embossed and calligraphed by Switzerland’s paper museum in Basel, where the traditional paper-making machines are still driven by an ancient, authentic watermill.

The privately run museum at the medieval Galician mill integrates practical work into the exhibition focussing on paper, type and printing. At the “Basler Papiermühle” visitors have the opportunity to experience old craftmanship authentically and — in the very sense of the word — grasp it: Children as well as grown-ups can mould paper themselves, write with quill feathers and type-set their name at the printer’s workshop.

New7Wonders founder and president Bernard Weber chose this manufactory to print the Finalist Candidate certificates for the New7Wonders of Nature as well as for the New7Wonders of the World campaign.
