The 7 Wonders of Portuguese Origin

Zurich/Switzerland — The Official 7 Wonders of Portuguese Origin in the World were announced on June 10 at a spectacular gala ceremony in the city of Portimão, in the presence of New7Wonders Founder and President Bernard Weber.

The Official 7 Wonders of Portuguese Origin in the World were recently chosen by a quarter of a million votes cast online, by phone, or by text message. At the ceremony, a new national campaign was announced for 2010, to elect the Official 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal.

The Official 7 Wonders of Portuguese Origin in the World are:

  • Diu Fortress (India),
  • Mazagão Fortress (Morocco),
  • Bom Jesus Basilica in Goa (India),
  • Santiago Old Town (Cape Verde),
  • St. Paul Church in Macao (China),
  • St. Francis of Assisi Convent in Ouro Preto (Brazil)
  • St. Francis Convent in S. Salvador da Baía (Brazil)
