Zurich/Switzerland — The Third Asian Indoor Games took place in Vietnam last month, with 4,500 athletes from 45 Asian countries competing in 24 sports. The chess tournaments were held at New7Wonders Finalist Ha Long Bay.

Finnish Parliament Speaker Sauli Niinisto and his entourage paid a visit to the north-eastern Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh last week. The Finnish delegation toured and voted for Halong Bay to be chosen one of the Official New7Wonders of Nature.

Powerful, passion-inspiring Vesuvius is now the sad site of two huge landfills that seriously threaten the local farms, vineyards and tourist industry—not to mention causing great distress to the residents who complain of a terrible stench. Despite having long been designated a protected area, the site around the magnificent symbol of Naples is being covered with garbage.
